Amy Winehouse to Play Brazil in Early 2011

in Latest

According to her website, the troubled soul singer will play three gigs early next year in Brazil, as part of the Summer Soul Festival. She will also play an additional gig in Rio de Janerio.

These gigs will be the first full gigs the singer has performed since 2008, and follows an impromptu gig in her local pub in Camden, North London, last month.

Amy Winehouse is currently working on a follow up album to her massively successful and award winning Back to Black album.  This album was made in 2006.

The singer has seen her fair share of troubles over the last few years, and there was a time when she wasn’t out of the headlines for problems with addiction and her love life. Sadly, her remarkable soulful voice was hardly mentioned during this time.

Supporting Amy Winehouse will be US singer Janelle Monae with additional support form rapper Mayer Hawthorne on the Summer Soul performances.

Fans of Amy Winehouse will be hoping that the soul singer will treat them to a quality record and quality live performances in 2011.  They will also be hoping that being a few years older will help her cope with the pressures of fame better than she did three years ago.
