NASHVILLE, Tenn – Singer-songwriter Glenn Thomas presents his single "The Longest Alibi You've Ever Heard" today. Frontman of Rhode Island based alternative rock band Wild Sun, the new track shares his first solo effort and step towards embracing Americana and folk influences. An introspective, soul-searching track reflects on change, life choices, and our unique paths and stories.

"I wrote the song thinking about a couple people who haven’t been in my life for a long time, but I looked up to," shared Thomas. "I imagined them seeing me now and wondered if all the decisions I had made amounted to something worthy of their respect. The idea behind the song came from thinking about if I had to explain why I’d been the way I am for so long, as though one would be on trial for the person they’ve become." Written as a reflection on change, Thomas looks back at how time and bad decisions alter self-identity, and how those closest to you see those changes.

Building on his alternative rock roots, Thomas delves into Americana and folk influences with the track, as a natural progression of his song-writing and desire to expand his solo sound. Often used to recording with a full band, he had the opportunity to perform all instruments on the track, with exception of the pedal steel and violin. Thomas recently relocated to Nashville, TN from Rhode Island, to pursue his solo work and song-writing. "Nashville has been a great place to solidify what I want to do with my solo music," he commented. "I just began recording a full length debut album with producer Jordan Lehning to be released in late 2019. There’s a lot of things in the oven that I’m really excited about!"

As Rhode Island's 95.5 WBRU previously said, "When Glenn sings, he feels it—the music, the song, the lyrics, the truth. You can tell that he sings of a deep and personal truth. Behind the jokes is someone who was meant to play music." His solo work continues in the same vein of intimately personal material and talented song-writing, that captures the hearts and ears of listeners. Thomas' Rhode Island alternative rock band, Wild Sun, gained praise from fans and press alike, charting on the Top 200 of college radio charts in 2015, and coverage from media including Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, and Entertainment Weekly, among many others.

"The Longest Alibi You've Ever Heard" was released on Palace Flophouse Records and out everywhere today, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. Thomas will celebrate with a release show next Friday, April 19th at The East Room in Nashville, TN, and is also performing this Sunday, April 14th at The Nashup at Alley Taps.
