Koffee is a 19 year old from Jamaica who’s on a mission to preserve and share her roots via her music. The Reggae artist, rapper/DJ, and guitarist is fast becoming a prominent name, not only in Jamaica but worldwide too. Already being recognised by BBC 1Xtra  as a newly emerging ‘hot’ artist, she has also received over 20 million Spotify streams for recent EP Rapture.

Having just signed with CAA, this young talent is forging her way to success in the industry. Her debut EP Rapture mixes traditional reggae sounds, with a rapid-fire approach. Catchy lyrics and hooks often stick and resonate in your mind.

She first gained recognition back in 2017 when she dedicated a song to Usain Bolt, which she entitled LEGEND. With the song and video becoming a viral Instagram hit, this seemed to set good foundations for her to progress as a young emerging talent.

She grew up exposed to music from the Seventh–Day Adventist Church, where she sang in a choir and learnt herself guitar. However, when she became a teenager Koffee was exposed to reggae where she started writing lyrics and songs inspired by Protoje. She states’ “I said, lemme try ah ting. And I started writing.”

When asked to describe her music she refers to is as “youthful” then pauses and looks at the floor. “Positive … Me nah know. It’s kind of difficult to describe sound as positive, but I feel like music has feeling.”  “I will add words as I go on in my career.”

Unfortunately, Jamaica is a violent and turbulent country and she pleads on her single ‘Raggamuffin’, where she mentions gun violence and governmental youth neglect. These issues give her the driving force to create music.

More encouragement came in April, when Tory Lanex made a remix to her single, ‘Toast’.

A recent comment on Facebook shows hope that her music can communicate with the younger generations:

Koffee....you are a God sent to rescue the younger generation. ...you can teach them though your music at least they will listen . You got their attention...some gonna try turn your mind to the material world but keep meditating on the positive focus on God you'll be alright. Much love & light on your journey. ❤💛💚
