Metallica Shuts Up Critics As They Give Amazing Glastonbury Performance

The weeks and months before Glastonbury saw countless negative news reports and gripes about rock band Metallica headlining. It almost seemed the American rock giants weren't welcome at all.
Music fans seemed uneasy about a heavy metal band headlining- For they were the first metal band to headline at Glastonbury. Festival goers thought they might spoil the hippie feel of the event.
Some of the biggest moans came from Mogwai and Arctic Monkey’s Alex Turner. A member of Mogwai called Metallica s**te in response to them headlining some weeks prior to the event. It just so happened these two artists had the unfortunate slot and were playing at the same time as Metallica.
Many ignorant music enthusiasts may feel scared of Metallica. Branding them as has heavy thrashing metal heads from the 80's. Yes, they do play heavy but they mix in quality classical instrumental pieces too. They have even played with full orchestras. Once producing a full album with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra called S&M. They are masters of mixing heavy metal with slow classical pieces.
Anyone who knows Metallica, will have heard how good they are at live performances. James Hetfield has great dominant vocals, Lars Ulrich never misses a beat on the drums and the rest of the group perform note perfect music pieces. They are probably (if not) the best live rock bands.
When they hit the stage at Glastonbury last week, they knew they had something to prove, and they did just that! In fact, they made critics (like Mogwai) look like sulking jealous school kids.
Although these rock gods have been at the top of their game for over 30 years, It seemed the people of Glastonbury had discovered a new favourite band. Facebook and Twitter feeds were filled with Metallicca likes and praises. Not to mention the many major news publications that came as a result.
