Trentham is thrilled to announce that Ocean Colour Scene will headline the Friday night of its brand-new concert series, At Trentham, taking place on Friday, 30th May 2025. The highly anticipated event forms part of a spectacular three-night concert series, organized as part of the Stoke 100 celebrations, marking the centenary of Stoke-on-Trent being granted city status in 1925. Joining Ocean Colour Scene as a special support act will be the acclaimed band The Enemy.

A Night of Britpop Legends and Unforgettable Live Music

Known for their iconic live shows and singalong anthems, Ocean Colour Scene rose to fame during the Britpop era, delivering three Top 5 albums, including Moseley Shoals (1996) and Marchin’ Already (1997). With 17 Top 40 singles under their belt, such as the timeless hit “The Riverboat Song,” the band has earned a reputation for uniting audiences through life-affirming, high-energy performances.

Adding to the excitement, Coventry rockers The Enemy will bring their signature Britpop swagger and punk energy to the stage. The trio—frontman Tom Clarke, bassist Andy Hopkins, and drummer Liam Watts—first burst onto the scene in 2007 with their chart-topping debut album We’ll Live and Die in These Towns, featuring hits like “Away From Here” and “It’s Not OK.” Following a successful reunion tour in 2022, The Enemy are now working on their fifth studio album, promising fans a thrilling performance.

A Celebration of Stoke-on-Trent’s 100-Year Legacy

The At Trentham concert series is a flagship event in the Stoke 100 celebrations, a year-long program commemorating the city’s rich cultural heritage and its bright future. Alastair Budd, Senior Director at Trentham, expressed his enthusiasm for the lineup:

“We’re delighted to kick off the 'At Trentham' concert series with such an incredible lineup. Ocean Colour Scene and The Enemy are legendary acts that will undoubtedly set the tone for an unforgettable weekend of live music. It’s a privilege to host this event as part of Stoke-on-Trent’s centenary celebrations, and we can’t wait to welcome fans from across the region to join us in marking this historic milestone.”

A spokesperson from Stoke-on-Trent City Council added:

“These events will be a fantastic addition to our Centenary calendar. Trentham is a hugely popular visitor attraction and events venue, so it’s great to have them onboard for our Centenary. Music is an important part of our cultural heritage—most of us will remember the first band we saw live. This series of concerts will form part of a year-long programme of events.”

The three-day concert series runs from Thursday 29th May to Saturday 31st May 2025, with more headline performances to be announced soon.
