Union J Begin Work on First Single

X Factor 2012 semi finalists Union J have confirmed that they are taking to the studio to start work on their debut single.
The band was signed to Sony at the end of 2012 and they took a break over the festive period but went back into the studio today to start recording.
They took to Twitter to confirm the news saying: “Recording our first single on Monday! So sorry Belfast but we have to change the gig date, things are moving so fast for us! We'll be back! X”.
Union J were put together as a four piece by mentor Louis Walsh during the X Factor having originally started the competition as three piece Triple J. Walsh enlisted George Shelley to complete the line up and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fellow X Factor finalist and winner of the competition James Arthur has been doing well for himself, having his first single “Impossible” sell over a million copies.
James has also finalised his record deal with Simon Cowell’s label Syco and is now set to begin work on his debut album.
James said of the deal: "I am thrilled to be part of the Syco family, working with Simon and his team is exactly where I want to be. I can't wait to get into the studio to start work on my record!"
