X Factor winner James Arthur has been left red faced after he forgot to take his house keys with him on a night out and had to call the police to help him get in.

The singer had been in attendance at the pre-Brits party in central London before sneaking off to Soho’s Groucho club with close friend Caroline Flack.

His fun night out abruptly ended however when he travelled home only to find that he didn't have his keys with him. He was forced to wait outside for 20 minutes before the police finally arrived to help him get back into his London apartment.

James recently spoke of his experiences with crazed female fans and how it is starting to unnerve him slightly. He also revealed that he is finding it difficult to adapt to the change of people suddenly knowing who he is. He told ITN in an interview with them: "It freaks me out a little bit.

There were loads of them singing 'Impossible' and I was like what? It's freezing cold, go home."

Luckily for James, in this instance, there were no fans around to witness his misfortune of being stuck outside his own home.
