Ella Henderson has spoken out insisting that the X Factor has become a more credible show and says that the show has “more artistry”.
She has a lot to thank the show for having recently been signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco even though she was knocked out of the process half way through the live shows.
She spoke out in an interview with BBC Newsbeat to say: "Without the show I wouldn't have been given the opportunity to stand on a stage and sing my original song.
"A lot of it has changed as well. You can go on there with an instrument. You can play and there's just a lot more artistry to the show and that's great. We've got somebody like James Arthur, who won and he's an incredible talent.
"Everybody was so different this year and so diverse and I think it just shows the show is a credible show at the end of the day and that people have come off it who really do take music seriously."
In the interview, she also spoke about how she is recording new material for her debut album, although it is not known when it might be released yet.
She also mused about what could have happened if she hadn't have decided to take part in the show and said: "I would still be an unknown girl from Grimsby who song writes but, you know, I do it in my living room instead of sharing it with the world.
"And without The X factor I wouldn't have had that."
