Guns’n’ Roses front man Axel Rose has brought a law suit against the software company, Activision, for allegedly breaking contract. The software company struck a deal with Guns’n’Roses to use their song, ‘Welcome to the jungle.’ The conditions laid down by Axl Rose, were that the band would not feature Velvet Revolver songs that featured ex Guns’n’Roses guitarist Slash. Guitar Hero III not only features songs by Velvet Revolver, but Slash is on the front cover, an avatar in the game, and indeed was the games spokesman.

The hatred Axl Rose has for Slash is well documented. Axl Rose said of the guitarist that he was a cancer and was best removed, avoided.  Curiously, Axl Rose’s law suit against the software company comes three years after the game’s release. One can only imagine that it was a birthday present that he didn’t like.

The law suit is reported to be around $20 million dollars. Axl Rose’s lawyer said, "[Activision] began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N' Roses and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle,' ".

A lot to pay for putting Velvet Revolver songs on your console game.
