In just under three weeks the 3rd annual Edinburgh Blues ‘N’ Rock Festival will take place at The Corn Exchange in the city. This year the line up has been programmed by the Edinburgh Blues Club, resulting in another top list of the most exciting blues-infused acts around.

Previous years have featured headliners including Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden, 60’s pioneers The Pretty Things and American boogie-blues stalwart Mike Sanchez. For 2018 the biggest single day, single venue event of it’s kind in Edinburgh has secured the services of the legendary Ten Years After, topping a bill that includes the marvelous Dana Fuchs & Her Big Band, as well as up-and-coming Edinburgh rockers The Rising Souls.

The festival takes place a little later than last year’s July date - it’s all happening on Saturday, September 22nd - but there’s no need to worry as it’s all indoors, in the comfortable surroundings of The Corn Exchange. The venue’s plentiful bars, spacious interior and great technical facilities will all serve to ensure a safe, dry and enjoyable event for all.

The show will kick off in the early afternoon with the excellent Glasgow outfit Charlotte Marshall & The 45s who are not to be missed. Similarly, the classic blues stylings of The Jenson Interceptors – led by harmonica ace Gary Martin will get things going early doors.

Next up, Walter Trout protegee Mitch Laddie brings his virtuoso guitar skills to the event as part of his Autumn tour before the soulful hard rock of The Rising Souls precedes the mesmerising vocals of Dana Fuchs.

Ten Years After are contemporaries of luminaries like The Rolling Stones and The Who, and their appearance in Edinburgh takes place in the band’s 50th anniversary year, making them one of the longest running bands around. They’re known for hits such as Hear Me Calling, I'd Love To Change The World and of course I’m Going Home - their encore of which was famously captured on film at Woodstock in 1969 and brought the band to an even greater audience who were blown away by the song’s barreling style and the group’s stunning intensity.
