Wisconsin born, LA-based guitar slinger Jared James Nichols has released a new single to coincide with his just-completed UK Tour supporting L.A. Guns - which was previously due to wrap up this Sunday with a show at the sadly now-canceled Hair Metal Heaven in Hull. The track, End Of Time, is the latest cut to be lifted from his most recent album, Black Magic, which dropped in October last year.

The heavy, visceral blues record was the follow up to Nichols’ 2015 debut album, Old Glory & The Wild Revival, and contained even more breakneck licks, impassioned vocals and grinding bluesy riffs than it’s predecessor. The album was recorded at The Boneyard in Boston as well as Johnny Depp’s home studio in Los Angeles and produced and co-written by Tony Perry (son of Aerosmith legend, Joe) along with Nichols.

Recent months have seen the guitarist and his powerful band – featuring the Swedish-born rhythm section of bassist Erik Sandin and drummer Dennis Holm – taking live stages by storm with the group appearing as special guests on Stone Broken’s UK Tour in February/March and having previously supported the likes of Blue Oyster Cult, UFO, Saxon, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynyrd’s guitarist Gary Rossington was so impressed with Nichols when he opened for the Southern rock legends he invited him onstage to join the band on Sweet Home Alabama – something no one had ever been asked to do before.

The new single is out now, and Nichols had this to say about the track, “Originally, this one was written for a two-piece vibe of guitar and drums. When we recorded it, we tried to keep the simplicity at the forefront. It's raw and direct. It's about change, in people and in times. On a production side, it hits hard. Tony was able to push the limits on the gear, and you can hear it. We could even smell the tubes in the amplifiers burning from being pushed to the limit!!”

Nicols is also currently working on a new album, and has a simple philosophy, "I want people to get excited. I want them to feel like anything is possible in this music. I want them to know great blues rock exists. If I can give someone the same inspiration I was blessed with, I've done something right."
