The frontman of Ultravox, architect of Band Aid/Live Aid, and all round Scottish music legend, Midge Ure, will tour the UK theatre circuit between March and May next year with an updated, revamped version of a show he first presented 25 years ago which mixed a question and answer session with live music. The new show will be called ‘Songs, Questions And Answers’ and will kick off at Eden Court, Inverness on the 7th March.

Ure should have plenty to talk about as he discusses his storied career, from his recent ‘Orchestrated’ CD in 2017, going all the way back to coming up with the concept along with Bob Geldof - and wrangling myriad artists - to record the Band Aid singles, and put together the giant Live Aid shows back in 1985. Then there’s his 40 years with Ultravox and many other musical projects – he even played guitar in Thin Lizzy for a while, be sure to ask him about it if you make it to a show!

He will be performing material from both his solo work and Ultravox, with people at the gigs getting the opportunity to request some of the songs which are performed meaning the concerts will include a fascinating selection for both die-hards and casual fans.

Midge will be accompanied by two multi-instrumentalists, Cole Stacey and Joe O'Keefe. The duo will also open the evening playing their own material as India Electric Company. IEC have been said to “use traditional instruments in contemporary styles to explore diverse themes from Eastern Europe, Irish traditions and urban alienation to end up with something “quirky and glittery - a veritable musical magpie’s nest” (BBC Radio 3). They released their debut album, ‘The Girl I Left Behind Me’ in 2015 and have previously accompanied Ure on extensive tours throughout Europe, Austrialia, New Zealand and Scandinavia.
