Under the Bridge, London – Friday April 5th 2019

German guitarist will perform career-spanning set including material by NEU! and Harmonia plus acclaimed second solo record ‘Sterntaler’ in full.

‘Solo’, a new boxset featuring Rother’s first four solo projects, will be released via Groenland next month.

Known for being a member of Kraftwerk in 1971, Rother went on to form NEU, collaberating with Klaus Dinger. In addition, he also teamed up with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius of Clusterband to create Harmonia. Rother has also had a successful solo career releasing 9 solo albums. A key figure of the innovative krautrock music scene that originated from Germany in the early 1970s, Rother’s music has been inspirational for generations of musicians including David Bowie, Brian Eno, Iggy Pop, DEVO, Sonic Youth, Stereolab, U2, Autechre, Radiohead, Primal Scream, John Frusciante and many more.

From Hamburg, Germany, Michael Rother is classed as a multi-instrumentalist, primarily focusing on the guitar and keys. His career has spanned from the 1970s, and his music has influences of Pakistani music, from living there in the 1960s. He gained most recognition from the band NEU.
