This week the popular Bay area rapper E-40 released his twenty-sixth studio album titled “Practice Makes Paper”. Today we highlight the love centered summer anthem “1 Question” on the album featuring Chris Brown, Jeremih, and Rick Ross.
The song kicks off with r&b artist Jeremih reeling us in. His smooth vocals consistently bring life to romantic tracks and he did not fall short on “1 Question”. Inspired by the hit song “Make It Last Forever” by Keith Sweat, the soft melodic sound production of this track when paired with Jeremih’s sensual lyrics on the chorus makes the song a standout.
E-40 hops on the first verse with his signature lyrical flow and uses nearly every opportunity to discuss his love interest. The veteran hip hop artist showers his interest with affection through his words from expressing how he’s been searching for her his entire life to all the luxury items she deserves because she is that amazing.
[Verse 1: E-40]
Uh, where you been all my life?
I've been watching' and looking' at all your mentions
I've been searching for you like a search engine
It really don't make no sense how bad you are
When God created you, He made a star
By the second verse, rapper Rick Ross has his time to shine and showcases his success in the rap game through his words. With lines like “A fetish for Ferraris, selfies at the Texaco. See me winning' now it got me trending' on the block” the Southern rapper does not shy away from his luxurious lifestyle. For verse three, Chris Brown draws us in singing about his intimate interactions while highlighting his sexual tendencies:
[Verse 3: Chris Brown]
Know that people be listenin' so I won't be loud
Won't make a scene, I'll take you through the cloud
You want fun, girl, you know I got it (Ha)
Just stay up, ha, 'cause we gon' do this all night
When we make love (Yeah yeah, babe, ooh)
With so many diverse tracks on E-40’s “Practice Makes Paper”, the song “1 Question” is a single you don’t want to miss.
