Nick Wilson pours his heart out in “Say It Now”, a gentle, heartfelt ballad that signals the entry of yet another tuneful British singer-songwriter into the mainstream pop scene.

Wilson has gained a reputation as a self-made artist, having self-produced and self-released his discography, and his winning vocals and production helped him earn about 4 million streams on Spotify and over a million views on Youtube. Normally lending his silvery, smooth voice to electronic music, Wilson focuses on customary pop styles for this track, including mellow percussive beats, empathetic subject matter and a powerful chorus that showcases the range of notes his voice can hit.

“Say It Now” functions as a plea to his lover as well as an assertion of his strength and maturity that will protect him against pain and heartbreak. Wilson fills the verses with weighty echoes of his voice, further underlining the emotions that constitute the majority of this ballad’s appeal. A magnetic pop tune instantly engages the listeners, getting them to sing and feel alongside the singer, and this tune does just that--an immensely romantic and warm melody that strikes at the heart as well as it flows into the eardrums. The lengthy bridge supports the style just as well, classifying it as a strict pop song rather than electronic tracks that often forego the bridge.

His EP, A Face I’ve Never Seen Before, was released in August of 2019 and received much acclaim on social media and radio. Now his listeners will hope to experience the new single as part of an upcoming album or project, but so far, they will have to make do with the enigmatic music video---a depiction of strength, flexibility, and pain through the medium of interpretive dance.  Revealing how he first got himself into music, he says:

I grew up listening to loads of different types of music around the house, my family is quite big so there was always music being played from a speaker somewhere. I think that eventually pushed me to want to learn an instrument and eventually write my own songs.”
