Sean Paul and Tove Lo come out with a dazzling dance number ‘Calling On Me’ that’s set to capture the dancefloors with its infectious sound.

The song is buzzing with modern electronic instrumentation as well as killer vocals from its vocalists, a winning combination for any contemporary electro-pop hit. Tove Lo has already built a reputation for her party-heavy discography and she pulls through yet again with loud, irresistible vocals that send an adrenaline rush through the entire beat. Right off the bat, her playful, powerful voice invites the listener into the mix, whereas the synth machine is just quick enough to build anticipation.

The repeated refrain introduced in the first verse continues throughout the song but it is important to note that the composition does not simply rely on familiar electropop attributes. Sean Paul’s rap verses, in particular, delve into emotional territory, where he details his commitment towards loved ones. As is customary with Sean Paul’s songs at this point, there is a slight hint of reggae influence but mostly they are dance electronic smashes. Tove Lo does more than belting out the incredible chorus; her vocal echoes shine in the background, giving dimension to Sean Paul’s quick rap verses.

In recent years, Sean Paul has been involved in a lot of feature collaborations, working with artists and acts such as Sia, Clean Bandit, Meghan Trainor amongst many others. He hasn’t had an album come out since Full Frequency in 2014, so his diehard fans will be hoping that he will be able to release his own full-length album sometime soon. Whereas Tove Lo herself has been quite busy --- her 2019 album Sunshine Kitty featured some killer tracks, and she even managed to get Kylie Minogue on a collaboration.

Speaking on her 2019 album, Tove Lo said;

This album is written from a calmer place so, naturally, it’s me looking out instead of looking in. It’s also a way of being able to observe myself and a relationship without feeling so much anger. Kind of admitting to your own flawed sides without being frustrated with them.”
