We can’t deny that we are currently living in a time that will go down in all history books. The infamous COVID-19 has shaken up the entire world like nothing I have seen before.

Nevertheless, we can always count on music. Today we highlight the London-based alternative pop duo, Oh Wonder, who has found a beautiful way to translate the gloomy feelings surrounding a global pandemic to a therapeutic record.

“Lonely Star” is the first track Oh Wonder has released since their third studio album No One Else Can Wear Your Crown. In addition to the recent release, the duo announced on their Instagram that “Lonely Star” is the first song on a new project titled Home Tapes. Creating a silver lining to the “safe at home” orders circulating the world, Oh Wonder continues to push out content on their virtual platforms to keep their fans engaged in their music. The two have been performing one song from their impressive catalog every night for over a month now on Instagram Live. To debut “Lonely Star”, the duo played a special live performance once again from their living room.

Oh Wonder definitely falls into the category of artists that are utilizing these crazy times to produce amazing music. Rumor has it that the tracks for their upcoming project Home Tapes are being created right from their home studio in South London. When talking about the upcoming project, the duo shares:

In this unprecedented period of confusion and loneliness, we wanted to contribute to the world's efforts to make sense of it all, in the only way we know how. We are taking it back to how we started this band and embarking on a new project called Home Tapes, where we will seek to write, produce and mix songs at home to share with the world on a regular basis. In the absence of certainty, at least we will have music, and we hope that these songs provide some comfort, companionship and relief to those that need it."

On top of all of the positive energy Oh Wonder is generating through their platforms, the two musicians announced that fans can join in the creative process by contributing to the making of the “Lonely Stay” music video. Check out the tweets below for more information!
