Originally released in 1994, Galactica Rush earned widespread critical acclaim and is hailed as a landmark in neo-soul, jazz-funk, and trip-hop.

Mississippi-born Jhelisa, dubbed the “Cosmic Princess of Soul” by GQ, has spent her career defying musical boundaries. A member of a legendary musical lineage, she is the niece of James Brown collaborators Vicki Anderson and Bobby Byrd, and the cousin of Carleen and Bartlett Anderson. Over four solo albums, Jhelisa has traversed genres from soul and gospel to avant-garde experimentations, earning collaborations with icons like Björk, Massive Attack, Herbie Hancock, and Chaka Khan.
