Green Day Back on Tour
- in Latest
Green Day have announced that they will be heading back on the road after their lead singer/ guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong has finished a stint in rehab for substance abuse.
Billie Joe had an on stage meltdown last year which resulted in the cancellation of their remaining 2012 gigs as well as the postponing of a number of their scheduled gigs in 2013.
The band has now announced the rescheduled tour dates and will be recommencing the tour on March 28th.
The front man commended Green Day's fans for their support and understanding during what was understandably a difficult time for him.
Billie Joe said: "I just want to thank you all for the love and support you've shown for the last few months.
"Believe me, it hasn't gone unnoticed and I'm eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I'm getting better every day. So now, without further ado, the show must go on."
The band added: "We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us over the last few months. We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows."
