Olly Murs to host Xtra Factor

Singer Olly Murs has been confirmed as one of the new presenters of the Xtra Factor, the ITV 2 television show that partners the X Factor broadcast on ITV 1.

 

TV presenter Caroline Flack will be joining Olly Murs as the host with the pair going behind the scenes of the X Fator to do interviews with the contestants and air extra footage of the main parts of the talent show that each year grips the UK public with its up and downs as the X Factor works to find the Uks hottest new singing talent.

The news of the new presenters came via Twitter with both of the presenters taking to the social network to announce their new television roles.

 

Olly Murs tweeted: “I'm confirmed on Xtra Factor! Co-hosting it! Proper excited! Off for auditions in Birmingham! NOW!!”

 

Meanwhile Caroline Flack also confirmed the news to her followers on Twitter. She said: “Here in Birmingham! Met the lovely Kelly and Tulisa. Gonna be a very exciting day tomorrow..great to see Dermot...bring on day1.”


She added: “It does mean I'm sadly leaving the jungle, But had two fab years with the best team and only have incredible memories!! Xxxxx.”

 

Olly Murs is no strange to the X Factor as he finished second in the competition in 2009 and has since then released his album with his single Please Don't Let Me Go taking the number one spot. He has recently returned to the music scene with new music that he has been busy promoting.

 

Caroline Flack is a seasoned television presenter and has previously presented both Gladiators and a spin off show from I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

 

It had been rumoured that BBC 1 radio presenter Matt Edmonson would be taking over the coveted presenting role, which had been held by Konnie Huq.

 

Matt Edmonson joked on Twitter: “Got my bag packed, train tickets booked to Birmingham, copy of Simon's autobiography! Can't wait...What's that you say? OLLY MURS!?!?!?!?!”

 

Auditions for the upcoming X Factor show are now underway in Birmingham with the team then moving on to Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, London and Liverpool in their search for this years winner of the X Factor.
