The amount of talent found within a collaboration between Cory Henry, Pher and D’Sound are guaranteed to shake the world, which they’ve successfully achieved with their newest single ‘Good Nature’.
Musicians are magicians. To be able to craft sounds that invoke such emotion, feeling, and nostalgia even to a physical level is the work of magic, truly. That magic is woven so very carefully within ‘Good Nature’. Immediately, once greeted with the opening chords, the listener will be put into a spell. The energy is low, and the vibes are strong. The groove kicks in with the vocals and bass, which give all the more context to those opening chords. The way the chords move in the bridge support the progression so wonderfully, and give this almost Earth, Wind & Fire feel to the track. Everything is so laid back, from the production to even the ambient synth solo in the latter half of the track. The soulful vocals during the choruses, layered in harmony, glide through the progression like a leaf blowing through the wind, with just as much grace. What’s incredible with this song is the lack of explicit showmanship; you would think a song with such talents would be full of technical solos and complexities out the roof (which absolutely has its place). With that being said, this song is just as impressive for its control, the preservation of the tone throughout the entire composition, and the elegance in which everything was performed. This is a truly impressive song, through and through.
Soul is an ever-expanding genre, and this new approach practiced in ‘Good Nature’ to the genre blends the roots that gave it its platform alongside new ideas all brewed by some of the most talented musicians on the face of the earth. It’s a testament of the love these musicians have for the music, as well as their skill in making a masterful track from start to finish.
