Fie Eike has just released a new track titled “Fluid.” If you haven't listened to Fie before, I highly recommend exploring her other projects before, during, or after reading this article. Born and raised in Denmark, Fie crafts atmospheric, vibey songs with subtle yet impactful vocals. Her early releases have all revolved around the theme of water, and the production on these tracks is exceptional. Every element feels cohesive, from the structure of the parts to the unique sounds that surface throughout. Fie has a remarkable talent for weaving together different elements, ensuring that not only do they stand out individually, but they also collectively reinforce the overarching theme of her music.
Fie’s latest release, "Fluid," is definitely a song that resonates with me when I’m behind the wheel. It's not the kind of track I’d play with friends in the car, but rather one I enjoy when driving alone, reflecting on my past, present, and future. This song has a calming effect, helping me think more clearly. It draws me in with its occasional bursts of colorful chords, vocal lines, and string sections, making each listen a unique experience.
I am personally a big sucker for complicated chords and lots of things happening in songs. Infact, I am a big fan of pretty much any type of progression, tonal shift, rhythm or just anything on god’s green earth. As long as it feels right. As long as it feels honest and like it was made with the intention and love that it deserves.
The modern blessing and curse is that we are more free now than ever to pretty much be in control of our entire creative processes ourselves. Fie created the song Fluid in its entirety. Recording, production and mixing. There are a lot of artists that do this, but surprisingly few who can truly pull it off. I think Fie does. Give her latest release “Fluid” a spin.
