The intro to “Raving In The Studio” kicks off with a sample that feels instantly familiar. I won’t spoil the surprise, but the entire song is built around this iconic riff. Listening to it took me back to my younger days when I spent hours immersed in UKF Drum and Bass. I’ve always been torn about the genre—sometimes finding it a bit tacky, but other times absolutely loving it. For me, it all comes down to the song.

Drum and Bass has undeniably influenced the pop scene in recent years, with artists like PinkPantheress bringing it to the forefront by pairing their vocals with the genre’s beats. “Raving In The Studio” by Aitch and Bou feels like a classic Drum and Bass track, packed with the familiar sounds, tempos, and rhythms fans expect. What sets this track apart is the clever UK rap and the brilliant use of the recurring sample, which ties the whole song together.

This track feels like it was made for a high-energy EDM club. It would slot seamlessly into a pure Drum and Bass set or even spice up a general dance set as a one-off track to keep the energy alive. The accompanying music video captures the vibe perfectly, amplifying the confident and dynamic feel of the song. I can’t quite decide if the track feels cool or happy—it seems to embody both effortlessly, and that confidence is a huge part of its charm.

For me, “Raving In The Studio” feels instantly nostalgic. That’s partly due to the Drum and Bass tracks I grew up listening to, but also because of the familiar sample Aitch and Bou weave into the song. Despite its nostalgic roots, the sounds are fresh and polished, giving the track a modern edge.

What’s impressive is how timeless the sample is. If you replaced Aitch and Bou’s version with the original vocals, it would still be a fantastic track. But their take elevates it, blending modern vocal flows, slick studio production, and nostalgic sampling into something both fresh and familiar. It’s a well-executed homage with a contemporary twist.

Hats off to Aitch and Bou for creating such a standout track. Do give “Raving In The Studio” a listen—it’s well worth it!
