Simon Cowell Speak Out About the Future of Reality TV Shows

Simon Cowell has defended reality TV saying that there is still a place for it despite the declining number of viewers who watched the last series of the X Factor.
He claims that reality TV shows will be along for quite some time yet if he has anything to do with it.
He spoke out to BBC Newsbeat saying:"For bad shows it's dead, definitely. You've seen with something like the Olympics, when you put something good on, people watchl it."
He also spoke out about the X Factor's low ratings saying: "You've just got to try and make a better show than you did the year before. And if you do that there's a chance you can get the numbers up.
"I never go into anything thinking the numbers are going to go down, because the first thing I say to our production team is you've got to make a better show than last year."
He confirmed int he interview that despite its low ratings, he wouldn't be taking the X Factor off air any time soon.
"I guess there will be conversations then. It will be on TVl for a long time to come. Both shows will," he said, adding, "but I want to get this year out of the way first before I think about anything else."
Cowell is currently busy filming for this yar's Britain's Got Talent.
