Adele has confirmed that she will be performing at this year’s Oscars award ceremony amid speculation about a James Bond tribute.
There had been rumours for a while that there will be a performance in tribute to the long standing film series but Adele has confirmed that she will definitely be performing live next month.
She released a statement through her record label’s website saying: "It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once"
The producers of the award ceremony have revealed that they have high expectations for the star.
"We have enormous respect for Adele's unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer," say Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. "She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of Skyfall will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world."
Adele has already had an excellent start to the awards season having won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for “Skyfall”.
