X Factor winner James Arthur has spoken out about how he is struggling to adjust to the attention that he receives from female fans, saying that it is “freaking him out.”

Since he stormed to the top of charts with his cover of Shontelle’s track “Impossible”, he says that he has been surrounded by female fans and in some cases has even had to urge them to leave him alone and go home.

He spoke out to ITN saying: "It freaks me out a little bit, yeah, there were loads of them singing 'Impossible' and I was like what? It's freezing cold, go home. I wouldn't say mobbed, I can handle myself."

James is currently working on his album and has even revealed that he is hoping to co-produce it.

He has got off to an excellent start in his music career having had his first single reach the million selling mark; only the 127thsong to do so.

Martin Talbot of the Official Charts Company said of the achievement: "Hitting the million mark in around a month is a fantastic achievement for James Arthur.

"X Factor winners often score strong first week sales but to push through to the million mark so quickly is truly impressive."
