Olly Murs “Unlikely” To Return To Xtra Factor
- in Latest
Olly Murs has revealed that it is “unlikely” that he will be reprising his role as Xtra Factor presenter for the 2013 series.
He instead wants to focus on his music career and in particular breaking America.
Speaking to Heat magazine, Olly said: "I've had two great years on the show. To be honest, the way my career is going in terms of music and internationally it looks unlikely that I'll be able to do it.
"It's an amazing part of my career and working with Caroline has been great. Xtra Factor is nice to get my mind off music for a while, but for me America is a big step. I haven't spent enough time out there yet. I need to use that foundation I've built."
There are rumours circulating that fellow X Factor alumni Rylan Clark could be lined up to replace Murs.
Speaking to The Sun, Ryaln said: "Every series needs a bit of Rylan style. It's the dream job, especially coming from the show.
"Not sounding big-headed but if you talk about X Factor from last year there's three whose names you will bring up and I'd like to think I would be one of them."
Rylan has had previous presenting experience to add to his name having stepped in for a week as Daybreak’s Showbiz Editor while Richard Arnold was away but a role on the Xtra Factor would give him a permanent role in presenting, not to mention a little extra Rylan style for us.
