Shock rocker Marilyn Manson is suing a woman after she claimed she was engaged to him and that he was pro-Nazi.

Yolanda Tharpe approached several sources within the media announcing the news of their engagement despite Manson himself claiming that he has no idea who she is.

Billboard reports that Manson has accused Tharpe of spreading the rumour that he is pro-Nazi after he asked her to leave him alone. She even went as far as saying that he didn't "want to be seen with African-American women like her" when Manson asked her to retract the statement of their engagement.

Manson is suing Tharpe on five counts of defamation, unlawful use of his name for commercial advantage, misappropriation of common law right of publicity and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Through the case, Manson is pursuing £30,000 in compensation.

As news of the lawsuit is coming to light, Manson is revealing details of a "months-long campaign of defamation and harassment" inflicted on him by Tharpe.

As well as the other claims that Tharpe has made about Manson, she is also claiming that it was Manson himself stalking her and that he is responsible for the deaths of her two cats.
