Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” Voted Top Love Song in Internet Poll

Music fans in the US have voted Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” as their favourite love song in time for Valentine’s Day.

 

 

The poll was carried out by Harris Interactive and quizzed over 2000 Americans on what their favourite love song was.

 

The song, which was originally written by country star Dolly Parton, topped the poll with 38% of the votes and also came out on top with several sub-categories including divorced, widowed and separated.

 

Second in the list was “Unchained Melody” which has been recorded by several artists over the years but the version that appeared in the poll was that of the Righteous Brothers.

 

Aaron Levine of Sony Electronics Home Entertainment commented on the poll saying: "Romance is about making an emotional appeal to the senses, and to the heart. So, turn down the lights and turn up the sound."

8. “I Want to Know What Love Is” - Foreigner

9. “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” - Bryan Adams

10. “Let's Get It On” - Marvin Gaye
