Emeli Sande has revealed that she is planning to hopefully start her own record label so that she can give aspiring artists the breaks they need.
Sande herself struggled for years under the radar so she is hoping that she can turn her passion into a platform from which other talented musicians can launch their careers.
She spoke to the Daily Record and told them: "I think I'm going to start a label - that's the business plan. That's what's happening."
Sande revealed that her latest single “Clown” actually describes the singer’s feelings over being dismissed by record labels as just a songwriter rather than an all-round performer.
It also describes the star’s frustration at being dismissed and overlooked for so many years.
Sande went on to say: "It's about how I felt when I was trying to get signed, when I was going for all these meetings and people were looking at me like, 'What do we do with you?'
"I built a reputation as a songwriter before my own hits. People were coming to me for songs - I wanted to keep songs like 'Clown' and 'Mountains' to sing myself. But the record labels saw me as a songwriter. It was hard to get people to believe in me."
