Organizers of the Brits are concerned that James Corden may not be able to present tomorrow night’s awards ceremony after being struck with tonsillitis.
He was sent home from rehearsals after complaining about feeling unwell and he later recognised the symptoms having suffered with tonsillitis previously. Now he is on a strict talking ban to allow him to recuperate.
A source backstage at the Brits told the Telegraph: "James has been really excited about presenting the BRIT awards and doesn't want to have to pull out so getting better in time for the big night is his number one priority."
Corden’s people have downplayed the rumours that he won’t be well enough to host the awards saying that his illness has been greatly exaggerated and that he will still be able to fulfil his role.
This will be the fourth year that Corden has presented awards and follows an infamous performance from last year where he was forced to cut Adele’s acceptance speech short, causing her to swear live on TV.
He was mortified about the situation later telling Radio 1: "All award shows have to cut people short, it's just most award shows have a strategy for that. Nobody at the BRITs had thought about it."
