We've all made mistakes but Nicole Scherzinger admitted she made a major one when she passed on the chance to record the song “We Found Love”, which was then passed to Rihanna and became a massive hit.

Calvin Harris had originally written the song with Leona Lewis in mind but after she turned it down it was offered to Nicole and was eventually passed to Rihanna after Nicole claimed she was too busy.

In Rihanna’s hands, the song became a massive worldwide hit and even won a Grammy Award.

Nicole said: "I passed on 'We Found Love'. I've got the demo of that song and I was busy at the time.

"They'd sent me a few dance tracks and I wasn't able to get to them and I was like, 'Oh there's so much dance and I want to take a break from it.' That was my fault. I slept on it."

Nicole also revealed that she passed on the chance to record Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” when she was with the Pussycat Dolls.

Leona Lewis has previously spoken about how she didn't want to commit to “We Found Love” saying: "I worked with Calvin and we recorded We Found Love. But he went touring with Rihanna and she ended up releasing it.

"I didn't commit to it because I wanted Trouble to be my first single so I think that was another reason they went with Rihanna. It was the same version and production but mine's better."

She continued, "It was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world but if I'd released it maybe it wouldn't have done as well."
