Bonnie Tyler to Represent the UK at Eurovision
- in Latest
The UK’s entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has been revealed and we will be represented by 80s power ballad icon Bonnie Tyler singing her song “Believe in Me”.
The UK hasn’t has a very good few years in the contest with entries failing to pull in the votes from across Europe. Last year’s entrant Engelbert Humperdinck came second from last so Tyler is hoping to do much better this year.
Tyler spoke of her entry this year saying: "I am truly honoured and delighted to be able to represent my country at Eurovision, and especially with such a fabulous song. I promise to give this everything that I've got for the UK!"
Tyler will be very busy over the coming months not only with her Eurovision entry but also with the release of her new album entitled “Rocks and Honey” which is scheduled for release on 6th May.
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place in Sweden on 18th May and as always, will be broadcast on BBC1.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: "Bonnie Tyler is truly a global superstar with a fantastic voice and we are delighted she will be flying the flag for the UK in Malmo."
