Several pop stars have taken to Twitter to defend Justin Bieber and his recent outburst aimed at the paparazzi.

Louis Tomlinson of One Direction was one of the first people to comment about the situation and tweeted: “Although I don't know him personally, I do wish the press would take it easy on @justinbieber.

“I really do empathise with him, I don't see anything out of character in comparison to any other teenagers I know.”

British rapper Professor Green  also took to Twitter and said: “I'm team bieber on this one. You get the odd pap who's alright - the rest are weirdos.”

Bieber has come under fire this week after he arrived late onstage for the first of his four London dates of his current tour.

He has also threatened members of the paparazzi with physical violence on several occasions, claiming that he would would “beat the fuck” out of them.

Bieber himself took to Twitter at the end of his less than perfect week and said: “too many blessings to allow the stress in. the press made things look nuts but really I have enjoyed London. The fans are incredible"
