Not content with having a biopic chronicling her rise to fame, Katy Perry is now said to be eager to get started on a new autobiography which she has just signed a £2 million deal for.

The Sun reports that Perry has signed the deal to write the book under the title “Part of Me”, which is the same as her movie.

Katy allegedly wants to get the book out there as soon as possible so that she can get her side of the story regarding her marriage to Russell Brand out before he released his version of events in the next edition of his Booky Wook series.

A source told The Sun: “Several publishers have been after Katy for a while. She decided to go ahead so fans don't have a one-sided story when Russell publishes another Booky Wook."

Their marriage may have been a turbulent one but still only lasted 14 months. Regardless, Perry should have plenty of material to work with.

Perry is currently a very busy girl. As well as starting work on her book, she is also dating John Mayer and working on next album to follow “Teenage Dream”.
