Dave Grohl has admitted that Gangnam Style is one of his “favourite songs of the last ten years”.

The Foo Fighters front man made the unapologetically made the revelation during a speech at Austin's South by Southwest Music Festival yesterday where he also made his opinions about today’s music clear.

Grohl dismissed any of Gangnam Style’s critics saying: “F**k ''guilty pleasure!” What about just pleasure? I can honestly say that Gangnam Style is one of my favourite songs of the last ten years."

Known for his tongue in cheek approach to his music videos, Grohl can probably relate to Korean rapper Psy as a fellow lover of the comedy music video.

Grohl has also spoken out about his dislike of the industry using American Idol style shows to scout out “talent”. He said: "Imagine Bob Dylan singing Blowin' in the Wind in front of Christina Aguilera."

He went on to discuss his past including his role as drummer for one of the most iconic bands in the world, Nirvana.

He spoke about their humble beginnings and revealed how Kurt Cobain, the band’s front man had addressed industry insiders when they first started out. Grohl quoted Cobain: "'We wanna be the biggest band in the world...' I laughed, I thought he was fucking kidding... How Kurt even thought we could make a ripple in this mainstream world of polished pop music was beyond me."
