Joss Stone Stands in Court Over Murder Plot Trial
- in Latest
A court heard today that the first thing soul singer Joss Stone knew about a plot to kill her was when the police showed up on her door to tell her.
Two men are currently on trial for plotting to kill the singer back in 2011 and Stone was giving evidence at the trial of Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw.
The pair were arrested when one of Stone’s neighbours became suspicious and alerted the police.
In court, Stone recounted details of what happened the day she found out about the plot, telling jurors that she was only alerted when the police told her something was amiss.
"Apart from someone (police) coming around to say someone is trying to kill me, it was a really nice day,” she said.
"I've lived in Devon for a long time and nobody really shuts their door. I didn't really have a lock on my door... But I do now."
According to accounts, Liverpool and Bradshaw were arrested a few miles from Stone’s house and had in their car an alarming amount of weapons including samurai swords, knives and hammers. They were also found with a note that suggested that they disagreed with the fact that Joss was invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
Both men deny all charges against them but the case continues.
