X Factor Auditions to Take Place in Smaller Venues Yet more rumours about the new series of the X Factor have emerged today which suggests that the show’s arena audition format could be a thing of the past in a bid to increase ratings.
The shake-up would see the return of auditions taking place in smaller, more intimate venues and has been proposed to encourage more hopefuls to audition.
A source from the show told The Sun: "We always talk about the singer’s ‘journey’ but visually the live shows don’t seem much different from the auditions. We need a significant point of difference between the audition and the live show.”
"Smaller venues is the latest idea and it’s one we quite like as it’s new and could feel fresh."
In the first few series’ of the show, auditions took place in small rooms with only the judging panel in front of them rather than the thousands of people that hopefuls have had to perform in front of in more recent series’. As ever more rumours sprout about this year’s X Factor, there is still a huge question mark over who the final judges for this series will be.
