My Chemical Romance Announce Split
- in Latest
My Chemical Romance have announced that they are parting ways after being together as a band for 12 years.
They revealed the news via their official website yesterday, much to the disappointment of their legion of fans.
The statement posted on their website said: "Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible.
"We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."
The band reached the heights of commercial success back in 2004 with the release of their album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” and reached platinum status little more than a year after it was initially released.
Their greatest success came with “Welcome to the Black Parade” in 2006 which achieved even greater success than its predecessor and cemented My Chemical Romance as a firm favourite with misunderstood teens everywhere.
2010’s “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” marked the last studio album released by the band.
