It appears that after years of feuding and exchanging of harsh words, Britpop rivals Noel Gallagher, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon have finally buried the hatchet after appearing on stage together.

The historical moment, which many thought would never happen was largely down to Gallagher who constructed the appearance as part of his Teenage Cancer Trust gig.

Gallagher booked Coxon and Albarn for the show and announced them on stage with the highest of praises, telling the audience that they were about to perform a song that was specially composed for the event and to “Sit down. Open your minds. Shut the f**k up.”

Coxon and Albarn performed the Blur hit “Tender” together before Gallagher’s own High Flying Birds took to the stage though the Britpop collaboration was arguably the highlight of the night for many of the audience.

The new found friendship between Gallagher and Albarn came as a surprise to many as Albarn has previously been noted as saying: “I can’t make up with Noel. Britpop would be over and heaven forbid that we’d ever admit we’d all grown up.”

This may be so but the pair showed that they have indeed well and truly buried the hatchet after sitting at the same table together at the Brit Awards last month.
