Rihanna’s hairstyle which has been dubbed the “Skrillex” has been voted the worst haircut of the 21st century.

The ‘do which is named after DJ Skrillex is characterised by one side of the head being shaved while the other remains long and flowing.

Rihanna beat many other truly awful haircuts to top the poll including David Beckham’s cornrows and Christina Aguilera’s dreadlocks.

The survey was carried out by Fabriah.com who are retailers of professional haircare products and they asked 1,000 participants to name the worst hair trend of the last 13 years.

Rihanna’s haircut topped the poll with 20% of the votes and was closely followed by David Beckham with 19%. Scarlett Johansson then completed the top three with 16% of people voting for her mullet.

When voting, participants were invited to leave their comments. One said: “What is with the fascination with the 'Skrillex' haircut? All these celebrities think they're so cool, but you can just see kids following this stupid trend. How are they going to get jobs with a half shaven head?”

Another said: “David Beckham has had some brilliant hairstyles but those cornrows were a shocker. It looks like Victoria dared him to do it. All those people who copied him should be ashamed of themselves.”
