Super star Beyonce will be covering Amy Winehouse’s iconic hit “Back to Black” for the soundtrack to the upcoming film The Great Gatsby.

Outkast member Andre 3000 will also feature on the new version of the classic track which will appear in the film directed by Baz Luhrman.

It comes as little surprise that Beyonce is appearing on the soundtrack as her rapper husband Jay-Z is producing the album.

A spokesperson from the record company said: "It's a very different take on Back to Black." Rather than having a bluesy feel to it like the original, this version will apparently depart entirely from it and will no doubt have a more modern feel to it.

The Great Gatsby was initially scheduled for release last Christmas but it is now premiering at the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival this coming May. It will go on general release in the US on 10th May.

The film stars Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character Jay Gatsby.
