Kerrang! magazine has announced that the annual Kerrang! awards will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion, the event will be taking place in a new venue with a new host.

The ceremony will be taking place in East London venue the Troxy on Thursday 13th June and testing out his presenting skills will be Blink 182 legend Mark Hoppus.

Hoppus will be joined by co-host and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian who has taken the role of co-host for the event for the last five years.

Scott Ian said on repriving his role as co-host: "I'm always excited about hosting the Relentless Kerrang! Awards but this year I am not only excited but also honoured to be hosting the 20th anniversary of this prestigious event.”

“And by prestigious event I mean an excessive over-the-top over-indulgent bacchanalian blowout of epic proportions. And I have a new co-host this year, my pal Mark Hoppus. Let's party!”

Open voting for the awards commences today and can be done through the website www.kerrang.com and through Kerrang! magazine. Voting will close on 3rd May.

Another exciting addition to this year is a new category; “Best Event” so it will be interesting to see who claims the honour of its first ever winner.
