Reports suggest that Twitter could be close to the launch of their own music service after buying music site We Are Hunted.
It is thought that through the app, users will be able to access personalised music recommendations and speculation has mounted that the service could be announced in a matter of days.
The site music.twitter.com already exists so there is nothing stopping the social network giant.
We Are Hunted confirmed the purchase from Twitter stating on their website: "While we are shutting down wearehunted.com, we will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team.
"There's no question that Twitter and music go well together. Artists turn to Twitter first to connect with fans, and people share and discover new songs and albums every day. We can't wait to share what we've been working on at Twitter."
Ryan Seacrest helped to mount speculation by tweeting to say: "playing with @twitter's new music app (yes it's real!)...there's a serious dance party happening at idol right now."
As well as being able to access music through the app, users will also be able to watch videos from Vevo.
