Fans can expect some quiet from the Lady Gaga camp as the singer has announced that she is taking a break from her career and won’t be back in action until September.

Gaga recently cancelled the remaining dates of her Born This Way Tour so that she could undergo hip surgery and is now wheelchair bound whilst she is in recovery.

She is aiming to fully recover from her injuries before she heads back on stage.

A source close to the star told Life & Style Magazine: “She's relaxing and rehabbing. She actually just started walking again, which is great.”

The insider spoke of Gaga’s frustration at being out of action for a while: “She has a bunch of projects she wants to roll on, but she needs clearance from her doctors. It's really frustrating her.”

This does mean that she now has time to focus on writing new music and to produce new songs ahead of the release of her upcoming album Artpop.

Gaga herself has been relatively optimistic about her situation telling fans: "This is just a bump in the road. I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not."
