Jessie J’s Domino Announced Most Played Song of 2012
- in Latest
New figures published by music royalties company PPL reveal that the most played song of 2012 in the UK was “Domino” by Jessie J.
The figures take into account radio play, TV performances and plays in public venues like pubs and shops and shows that the Voice coach racked up even more plays than songs like Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” and Emeli Sande’s “Next to Me”.
“Domino” was released in the latter part of 2011 but took several weeks to climb to its peak spot at number one in January 2012.
Elsewhere in the list, seven of the songs in the top ten were number one in the official charts during 2011 and 2012.
Jonathan Morrish of PPL said: "The top ten most-played pop songs is always an impressive insight into what the nation has been listening to the previous year. These songs will undoubtedly stay with us for a long time."

1. Jessie J - 'Domino'
2. Gotye ft. Kimbra - 'Somebody That I Used To Know'
