Boy band Blue have revealed that they would never want to audition for a reality TV show such as the Voice or the X Factor.
Their feelings towards reality shows were revealed when they were asked in an interview if they would ever have considered going on one after 5ive’s Sean failed to progress on last year’s the Voice.
Lee Ryan’s response was: "No, I don’t think so. You’re just setting yourself up for a mug off aren’t you?"
"I saw Bianca Gascoigne going up for The X Factor, and I just felt like they were doing it to kind of ‘make TV’, and it really affected her.
"I felt sorry for her. I just felt like they [her people] shouldn’t have put her in that situation… I don’t think I could do it."
Duncan agreed: "Yeah, I saw Anthony Kavanagh go on The Voice and I felt quite sorry for him actually."
Even though they were critical about such shows, they did praise the X Factor for bringing One Direction to the limelight.
Anthony Costa said: "We come from the old school. We come from Saturday morning TV, gigging up and down the country, getting like 2 or 3 hours sleep, doing Top Of The Pops.
"We put ourselves together. One Direction have had this fantastic success and may it long live for them, as long as they enjoy it and don’t take themselves too seriously, they've had great success, but they come from a different angle, from The X Factor."
