Nick Grimshaw Rejected by BBC Radio One For Work Experience
- in Latest
Nick Grimshaw, host of BBC Radio One’s breakfast show has revealed how he was rejected by the station when he applied there for work experience.
The blow came back in his student days, 13 years prior to him claiming one of the most coveted slots in radio and Grimshaw has spoken out of his devastation at the set back.
Grimshaw told The Sun: "My first ever rejection was from Radio One, funnily enough,"
"I wrote to ask for work experience and they wrote me a letter saying no. I remember being so sad, I moped around the house for ages."
Grimshaw took over the early morning role from Chris Moyles last year and he told The Sun how he had previous experience in a similar role: "It was an early morning show and all the students were still in bed so nobody listened to it! We lasted for about three days. It was fun, though. I’ve still got the tape somewhere. I should play it on the show sometime.”
Grimshaw is currently doing a tour with his breakfast show around the UK and is appearing on his new TV show Sweat the Small Stuff.
How do you think Grimshaw is doing after taking over Moyles?
