A new app that has been described as this year’s essential summer app is being released this week.

The app called Festival Ready aims to help to ensure that festival goers need not lose their friends or even their tents by using a navigation system to keep track of everyone and everything.

Using this system, users will be able to drop pins on important locations in a virtual representation of their festival and therefore keep track of any important location.

It also allows users to check things like the weather and even communicate with friends that also use the app.

"Victorinox designed the Festival Ready app in the spirit of a digital Swiss Army Knife, specially for the British festival experience," says Adrienne Merrill, who is the brand communications director of Victorinox, the company behind the app.

"Multi-tools include the 3D navigation which is truly functional, along with many useful elements. We aim to make having fun in a field even more enjoyable.

"The app is free because we wanted to give every festival goer the opportunity to enjoy the first version of a digital Swiss Army Knife as a companion on their phone."
