Louis Walsh Refuses to Ask For X Factor Pay Rise
- in Latest
Even though Louis Walsh will be returning for this year’s X Factor for what will be his tenth year on the show, he has reportedly refused to ask for a pay rise unlike other judges because of the economic climate in his home country.
Walsh will reportedly be getting his usual, and still substantial salary of £1 million which is certainly not to be sniffed at but is substantially less than his fellow judges including Sharon Osbourne who has requested an alleged £1.8 million.
In addition to her salary, Osbourne has apparently also demanded £300,000 worth of first class plane tickets between here and the US.
An insider told The Sun: "Louis is mindful of economic troubles, particularly in his native Ireland where the property market has crashed, so he didn't think it was right to ask for a pay rise.
"A £1million deal is plenty for anyone and he’s just happy to have his place back on the panel."
Other judges Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger are reported to be asking for £1.5 million each although commitments on the show will be clashing with Scherzinger’s new album launch so it is still not 100% certain if she will be taking part on the show.
